Frozen in Time

This is a semi-permanent touch sensor installation designed to be exhibited during the winter months in Westfield Citrus Park mall. Their are 5 different touch sensor units containing 72 sensors. Each sensor is created using conductive paint within the illustration. So when one touches the piece different sounds are played based off the image. The illustrations are a series of frozen endangered or almost endangered arctic animals that are trapped within frozen blocks of ice. The frozen Eskmo in the beginning of the space is holding up a sign that explains how to engage with the piece in which the more you play then the quicker one can unfreeze the frozen animals. The piece was not only designed as a way to spark communal conversation and activity through play, but also awareness to the global warming issue that is effecting our planet.
